Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) uses behavioral science to help companies improve performance by aligning people, processes, and systems with clear goals. Through data-driven strategies, OBM strengthens organizational structure, improves communication and workflow, and increases efficiency in how work is completed. By setting clear expectations, providing effective feedback, and reinforcing positive performance, OBM helps organizations consistently deliver high-quality products or services while also increasing employee engagement, motivation, and overall job satisfaction.
An OBM consultant works with companies to assess how people, processes, and systems influence performance and outcomes. Through observation and data analysis, an OBM consult identifies barriers to efficiency, gaps in communication, and misaligned incentives that impact results. The consultant then designs practical, behavior-based solutions such as clarifying roles, improving feedback systems, streamlining workflows, and creating effective reinforcement strategies. The goal of an OBM consult is to help organizations improve performance, deliver results more consistently, and build a work environment where employees are supported, engaged, and motivated.
Betsy Allen, founder and lead consultant, brings a strong blend of academic training and real-world leadership experience to her work in Organizational Behavior Management. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Behavior Analysis with a concentration in OBM at The Chicago School, where her focus is on applying behavioral science to improve organizational systems and performance. Betsy began her career working within the public school system, where she observed how special education services were often siloed from mainstream education, creating barriers to collaboration and effective outcomes. In response, she worked closely with and led interdisciplinary teams to improve communication, align goals, and foster meaningful collaboration across departments. This experience directly informs her work with businesses today, where she applies the same principles to break down silos, strengthen leadership practices, and implement effective management systems and positive behavior supports that help employees thrive and organizations succeed.
